It was a pitching duel for 4 1/2 innings with both teams playing outstanding baseball. The Chargers had some opportunities but were unable to score early in the game. In the bottom of the 5th Brent R. reached on an error and Marc B. walked. Spencer H. reached on a fielder's choice. Jason K. was intentionally walked to load the bases. Tyler L. grounded into a force out from 3rd to home for the 2nd out of the inning. Jon O. came up with the bases loaded and 2 outs and had 2 strikes and doubled to center field to score the 1st 3 runs of the game. Brian K. singled to drive in the 4th run of the inning to give the Chargers a 4-0 lead.
In the top of the 6th inning St. Petersburg High scored a run to cut the lead to 4-1. Marc B. retired the side in order to give the Chargers a hard fought victory.
Marc B. pitched an outstanding baseball game. He pitched a complete game allowing only 1 run, 2 hits, 14 strikeouts and 2 bases on ball. He had very good stuff the entire game.

Jon O. with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBIs
Brian K. with 1 single and 1 RBI
The coaching staff was pleased with the energy the Chargers played with during the entire game.
The next game will be held on Friday, February 26 at home against Admiral Farragut at 4:00 pm.
