The Chargers
fought back from a 9-4 deficit to pull out an exciting win in the 2nd
round of the North East Spring Break
Tournament.
The Chargers scored two runs in the bottom of the 1st inning on a double by Jason K and a double by Marc B to drive in a run. Andrew R reached on an error and another run scored to give the Chargers a 2-0 lead. Brooks DeBartolo scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to tie the game 2-2. Brooks DeBartolo scored a run in the top of the 3rd inning to take a 3-2 lead.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Austin R reached on a walk,
Spencer H singled to drive in a run, Marc B walked and Andrew R singled to
drive in a run and give the Chargers a 4-3 lead.
Brooks DeBartolo scored 6 runs in the top of the 4th inning to
take a 9-4 lead. In the bottom of the 4th,
Will S walked, Matt B singled, Austin R reached on an error and a run
scored. Jason K doubled to drive in 2
runs, Spencer H singled to drive in a run. Marc B walked and Andrew R singled to drive in
a run. Will S walked, Matt B reached on
an error and 2 runs scored to give the Chargers a 12-9 lead. Brooks DeBartolo scored 3 runs in the top of
the 5th inning to tie up the game 12-12.
In the bottom of the 7th Jason K singled, Spencer H sacrificed
him to second, Marc B was intentionally walked and Andrew R doubled to drive in
the game winning run to make the final score 13-12.
