The Chargers won the District Conference with a record of 8 wins and no losses.
St. Stephens jumped out to 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. IN the top of the 3rd inning, John S. walked with 1 out. Spencer H. and Jon O. both walked with 2 outs to load the bases. Brian K. tripled to drive in 3 runs to tie the score to 3-3. Brent R. hit a 2 run homer to give the Chargers a 5-3 lead.
In the top of the 5th inning, Spencer H. and Jon O. both walked with 1 out. Brian K. singled to load the bases. Brent R. hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run. Jason K. drove in another run with a base hit to give the Chargers a 7-3 lead.
Marc B. pitched 6 innings to pick up the win. He allowed 3 runs, 7 hits and 9 strikeouts. Jordan L. pitched the 7th inning and didn’t allow any runs or hits and had 2 strikeouts.
Defensive play of the game was made by Jon O. on a hard hit ground ball that he stabbed with one hand and he was able to retire the hitter at 1st base.
