Shorecrest 4, St. Stephens 1
Shorecrest won a hard fought game at St. Stephens by scoring 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning. Brent R. led off with a base hit and Spencer H. singled and drove in the 1st run of the game. Jason K. singled and Jon O. walked. Tyler L. singled to drive in a run. Will S. drove in a run with a base hit to give the Chargers a 3-0 lead.
St. Stephens scored a run in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the lead to 3-1. The Chargers came right back in the top of the 6th inning and scored another run. Jon O. led off with a triple and scored on an error to make the score 4-1.
Marc B. pitched a strong game for the Chargers and a complete game and did not allow an earned run. He struck out 8, walked only 1 and gave up 8 hits. The Chargers turned 2 very nice double plays and played good defense the entire game. Spencer H. was very good behind the plate and threw out 2 out of 2 base runners trying to steal. The Chargers played a very good game with good pitching and good defense and some timely hitting.
