Lee Byers Invitational Tournament

Shorecrest 5, Tarpon Springs 11

Tarpons Springs scored a run in the 1^st inning to take a 1-0 lead. Shorecrest came right back and scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1^st inning. John R. led off with a base hit. Brent R. moved him to 2^nd base on a ground out. Spencer H. reached on a 2 base error, scoring John R. Marc B. hit a 2 run homer to give the Chargers a 3-1 lead.

Tarpons Springs scored a run in the top of the 2^nd inning and the top of the 3^rd to tie the score 3-3. The Chargers scored in the bottom of the 3^rd inning on a hit by pitch by Spencer H. Jason K. drove Spencer H. in with a double to give the Chargers a 4-3 lead. Tarpon Springs scored 4 runs in the top of the 4^th to go ahead 7-4. In the bottom of the 4^th Jon O. singled and Jake B. reached on a fielder’s choice. John R. and Brent R. both walked and Jake scored on a wild pitch to make the score 7-5. Tarpon Springs added 2 more runs in each of the 5^th and 7^th innings to make the final score 11-5.
