Game 1
Shorecrest 4, Osceola 3

Osceola scored a run in the top of the 1st to jump out to a 1-0 lead. The Chargers answered with 3 runs in the bottom half of the 3rd. Paul M. started the inning off by reaching on an error. John R. also reached on an error and a run scored on the play. Brent R. walked. Jason K. drove in a run with a ground out. Jon O. walked. Brian K. was hit by a pitch to force in the 3rd run of the inning.

Osceola tied the score in the bottom of the 6th with 2 runs. The Chargers scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Marc B. led off with a double. Jason K. walked. Brian K. reached on an error to load the bases. Austin R. drove in the winning run on an infield ground ball.

Jason K. pitched very good baseball in 5 innings. He gave up 1 earned run, 1 base on balls, 3 hits and 4 strikeouts. John S. picked up the win working 2 innings in relief, allowing 2 unearned runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts and no hits.

Game 2
Shorecrest 5, Osceola 2
Shorecrest scored a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Jason K. reached on an error and advanced to 2nd base on a ground ball. With 2 outs, Jon O. singled to drive in the first run of the game. In the top of the 3rd inning Osceola scored a run to tie the game 1-1. In the 4th inning Marc B. led off for the Chargers with a long double to the fence. Jason K. followed with a walk. Brian K. got a base hit to load the bases. John S. singled to drive in 2 runs to give the Chargers a 3-1 lead. In the 5th inning the Chargers added another run. Andrew R. started off with a base on balls and Jake B. advanced him to 2nd base on a ground out. Cody T. drove in a run with a ground out to make the score 4-1. In the top of the 6th inning, Osceola scored a run to make the score 4-2. In the bottom of the 6th Marc B. led off with a long triple off the outfield fence. Jason K. hit a sacrifice fly to drive him in to make the final score 5-2.

John R. pitched an outstanding ball game for Shorecrest. He pitched a complete game, allowing 2 runs, 4 hits, struck out 7 and walked only 1.

The Chargers made some outstanding defensive baseball plays. Great diving catches were turned in by Jon O. and Cody T. Jake B. made a great catch in left field as well.

Brian K. pitched 5 outstanding innings for the Chargers, striking out 6 batters, and allowing 2 hits, 1 base on balls and 0 earned runs. Jason K. also pitched very good baseball, working 2 innings, allowing no runs, no hits, 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.

The Chargers scored 1 run in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a single by Brent R. and a base hit and RBI by Spencer H. In the 4th inning John S. walked with 2 outs. John R. singled, Brent R. singled and drove in a run, Marc B. singled and drove in another run and Spencer H. doubled to drive in 2 more runs to give the Chargers a 5-0 lead. In the 5th inning, Andrew R. walked, Jake B. walked, John R. was hit by a pitch, Brent R. and Marc B. both walked to force in runs to give the Chargers a 7-0 lead. In the top of the 7th Northeast scored 2 unearned runs to make the final score 7-2.

Brent R. made a great leaping catch for the play of the game.

The Chargers lost their first game of the fall season to Dixie Hollins in 8 innings.

Jason K. pitched outstanding baseball for 5 innings; he gave up only 2 hits, walked 1, struck out 7 and allowed only 1 run. Tyler L. pitched 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, no walks, 1 run and he struck out 2. Dixie Hollins scored 1 run in the 5th inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Chargers answered in the 5th with a run in the bottom of the 5th. Brent R. singled with 2 outs. Marc B. singled and Brent R. advanced to 3rd base. Brent R. scored on a wild pitch to tie the game 1-1. The game went into extra innings and Dixie Hollins scored a run in the top of the 8th inning to win the game 2-1.

The 2nd game of the doubleheader was suspended due to thunder and lightning. The game will be finished at a later date.
